Offer a Jayhawk Blueprint Course
Thank you for your interest in offering a Jayhawk Blueprint course! The Jayhawk Blueprint program is a partnership between the University of Kansas and select school districts in Kansas, allowing high school students the opportunity to take college courses at a discounted rate within their own schools. Students who successfully complete a Jayhawk Blueprint course earn both high school and college credit. Review the details below to learn more about offering a Jayhawk Blueprint course.
Requirements for Jayhawk Blueprint Course Offerings
- Instructors must have a master's degree in the content area or a master's degree plus 18 graduate credit hours in a related discipline to be eligible to teach in the program.
- Courses must be taught in person at one of the USD 497 high schools, included in the KU Core 34, and aligned with USD 497's academic priorities. Priority will be given to KBOR systemwide transfer courses.
- Additionally, courses must meet the minimum enrollment requirements set by the Jayhawk Blueprint program, be offered regularly at the school district site, and receive approval from the USD 497 School Board, the academic department, and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
- Instructor compensation follows the standard pay metrics established for lecturers by the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
